Darren J Sassall ND is a fully qualified, accredited and experienced practitioner of holistic medicine. Darren practices evidence based holistic medicine whose focus is to work with you (your doctor and specialist if appropriate) to provide better health outcomes than can be achieved through orthodox medical therapy alone. A full time practitioner qualified in Sport Science (Wollongong University 1990) and Naturopathy (Nature Care College Sydney1997), Darren has over 15 years experience in the care of athletes and the general public. He lectures to Massage Diploma students at Karuna College in Myofascial Release and Trigger Point Therapy, while clinically specialising in the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders (having experience with the Pfeiffer protocols and being DAN! trained). The Biomedical approach to Autism recognizes Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) as a biological, physical illness that is treatable! According to the Biomedical model, ASD's are a multi system breakdown - metabolic, immunologic, neurologic and digestive disorders that effect the mind (click here for more info). He currently practices out of a multidisciplinary clinic in Bulli NSW. Darren holds diplomas in Naturopathy, Herbal Medicine, Homoeopathy, Nutrition, Remedial Massage Therapy and Sport Science. With certificates in various other modalities including Panabaa Release and Dorn (Spinal Alignment) Therapy. Darren may be familiar to some through articles, lectures and presentations to professional groups and general public alike. He is the formulator of a remedy for the condition commonly referred to as ‘surfer’s’ or ‘swimmer’s ear’, which is nearing the end of a successful preliminary trial. (see: ‘surfers ear' page on this site) Darren is also a member of the steering committee for the National Health Care Alliance (www.nhca.com.au). A perceived need for and a keen interest in initiating change at a fundamental level in the way natural health care practitioners are recognized by government, the orthodox medical profession, the general public and various other groups, has led to his direct involvement in efforts to make this goal a reality.
